Had the opportunity to visit Virginia and teach with Joesar a couple weekends ago!  Thanks to VA for your amazing energy and to Aurelia and Jared for this routine!!!  It was such a fun weekend and it was my pleasure to share with all of you :)

So…around 3 years ago, I started to get a lil more involved in watching videos on youtube to kill some time and being an avid dance fanatic (though I have no skill whatsoever in it) I searched up artists. and came across Boogiezone. They had a lot of material at the time along with Erik Saradpon so I browsed and came across this video. And I fell in love with the girl in blue. She had the tighest moves, and you felt her soul in them when she danced. I had to hunt her down. Thank god through my best friend she told me her name was April Rodriguez. And so my love for her grew a little more with each video I watched through the course of those weeks when I went youtube video after youtube video then replayed. It was something different than what I’d seen from the rest of the dancers. I was used to more of a ABDC hype and male dance groups. But wow. So on this day, I’d like to wish a huge HUGE Happy Birthday to April Rodriguez, you are an inspiration, through your moves and words, your wisdom has been taken into heart by many. I know I have. Have an amazing day!!

My choreography to Keri Hilson - Lil Somethin



I heard this song and fell in love with it as soon as I heard it… maybe it’s cuz I love Keri… maybe it’s cuz I could relate to the song.

Anyway, sometimes I feel too stiff when I dance… like I cut off my movements and don’t really flow through them. I tried to slow things down with this piece and fill in the in-betweens. Hope it’s evident… if not, that’s okay.  I just need more practice!
